EVOLT TO CHARGE THE RAC FUTURE CAR CHALLENGE

APT Technologies is providing a dozen of its innovative Evolt charging points to help power vehicles taking part in this year's RAC Future Car Challenge.

The challenge, which mirrors the ‘traditional' London to Brighton vintage car rally, is designed to demonstrate, promote and challenge the development of new-energy and related technology for tomorrow's motoring. The competition is to reach London using the least amount of energy as possible.

“The Evolt team is proud to be promoting the benefits of electrical vehicles and low energy driving and the future engine technology,” says Justin Meyer of APT Technologies, the suppliers of Evolt charges. “We are pleased to be involved with this event and look forward to helping all the low energy vehicles undertake this challenge on the day and seeing the results at the end.”

This year around 80 cars are expected to take part. Drivers will be able to charge their vehicles at the Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel, the start of the route, thanks to the dual socket Evolt chargers. This will allow 24 cars at one time to top up on charge before the race.

Additional dual chargers will also be located at Central Sussex College in Crawley, where vehicles must stop for a minimum of 15 minutes, and at the end of the route in London.

Commenting on the support from and APT Technologies and the use of the Evolt charges, Ben Cussons, Chairman of the Royal Automobile Club Motoring Committee said: “The RAC Future Car Challenge receives a tremendous amount of support and we look forward to another successful event again this year. We are very grateful for the use of Evolt charges, particularly at the all important start point, which will help drivers with any last minute charging.”

The annual event is being held on 5th November.
